The Cool Hunting brings us news of a father and son duo ‘After The Barn’ who scour their native catskill mountains looking for old wooden barns that are past their sell by date. They then dismantle them and repurpose the ancient timbers as bespoke furniture, cabinets, birdhouses and made to order items. Their ambition is to ensure no barn goes to waste and the timbers are given a second life, founder Bob Staab explains, “We believe it is better to recycle the wood from old structures, transforming and redefining their role and enhancing their value rather than to relegating the old beams, walls and floors to a landfill.”
