Approached by the design team who were working on the refit of clothing outlet White Stuff’s flagship Edinburgh store we were asked to supply and fit a traditional parquet floor that used wood flooring from a sustainable resource. We tracked down a 10mm squared edged reclaimed oak material and our craftsmen set about milling each individual board to the precise sizes required to create the classic parquet patterns specified for the various floor areas.
We were also careful to retain the worn and aged look the matured timbers had acquired from their previous life to achieve the natural distressed look the architect requested. Once installed the floor was lightly sanded and finished with a hardwax oil that brings out the beautiful golden colours of oak.
Seeing is believing so pop into White Stuff , 89 George Street, Edinburgh to view the results for yourself!
