The new sixth form centre provides mixed boarding accommodation for upper sixth form pupils, and study and recreational spaces for the whole upper sixth form as a whole. It is the first element of a master plan to prepare Fettes College for the 21st century and will free up capacity in the existing buildings on the campus for future rationalisation of academic and residential accommodation.

When viewed from the outside at any angle, the building appears to sweep away from the viewer, reducing it’s apparent bulk and volume. The two wings seem to clasp each other, with an outer skin of stone and inner ‘softer’ framing interior of zinc and coloured glass above the central ground floor foyer and its flanking common room and study accommodation.
