I Feel the Earth Move Under My Feet….

Recently in the sleepy town of  Bourge, France the locals were bemused by the sudden appearance of a big bumpy foot hazard (or a playful urban art installation as the artist who created would prefer it to be perceived).

From a distance the bump looks just like a speed bump but once pedestrians step on it the structure gives way and ripples and sways.
Created by embedding a water filled cushion under the street cobbles with the aim to break up usual hard texture of the urban setting and provide a fun way for the people to interact with the urban architecture.

This got us thinking… could it work indoors?   What regular interior floor covering would work with this – ceramic tiles, wood flooring, whisky barrel cobbles and what kind of interior space would be best suited for this lovely playful installation?
