Linlithgow Burgh Halls

Having undergone a major £5.2m redevelopment Linlithgow’s historic Burgh Halls has recently reopened after the two year programme of works. The property has had an extensive transformation and restoration of its features, with a new interactive display examining its history installed in the reception.

Burgh Halls also incorporates the Glasshouse Cafe and a gallery, while community groups will also make use of the building.

Malcolm Fraser Architects were behind the design of the redevelopment, which was funded by West Lothian Council in partnership with the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Scotland.

McKay Flooring Ltd were awarded the contract to undertake the uplifting of the existing worn wood flooring and the installation of over 400m2 of new 20.5m solid Junckers European Oak. Our scope of works also included the installation of specialist insulation beneath the new flooring before the Junckers Oak was installed.

We are delighted to have played our part in regenerating this 17th Century Linlithgow landmark.
