Galgael are a Glasgow based charity that provides training in traditional boat building skills to job seekers. Working out of Govan, in the heart of Glasgow’s historic boat building community, Galgael aim is to encourage employment opportunities by passing on traditional wood working skills.
One of the off shoots of the boat building apprenticeship has been the creation of some wonderfully creative bespoke wooden furniture. The Galgael artisans have taken solid timber blocks and blasted and sanded them down to form rustic table tops with flowing organic shapes alongside more contemporary designs for tables and stools fashioned out of walnut and prime oak.
We are currently displaying a range of the Galgael furniture in our Glasgow Showroom. All of these beautiful creations are for sale – prices on application.
