Bo’Vine Restaurant Glasgow: Fillet Steak and Fine Wood Flooring

When he reviewed the Bo’Vine restaurant in the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor hotel, humourist Tam Cowan told his readers:

the sleek, modern decor with lots of dark woods and leather booths was reminiscent of many a classy steakhouse I’ve visited in New York and Vegas

He also said the black pudding starter was “more like a full blood transfusion”, but let’s not go there.

It would be nice to think his description of the Bo’Vine as classy extended to the wood flooring which was created from soft edge European oak by McKay Flooring.

Soft edge European oak is a beautiful flooring reminiscent of the time the best oak floors were planed to a soft flat surface in situ by the master carpenter as he finished off the floor. According to the manufacturer, “this meant each board took on a slight curve as it was easier to smooth the edges down than to level the whole floor”.

Next time you are in Glasgow, stake out the Bo’Vine restaurant. It is worth it for a glimpse of the floor.
